The Community Kitchen
Anderson, SC
Shared kitchens and kitchen incubators are licensed commercial spaces that provide food entrepreneurs a designated place to cook, learn and dream. The City of Anderson was awarded $1 million in grant funds to design the first of its kind in the Upstate, The Community Kitchen. In partnership with Innovate Anderson and Tri-County Tech, the City of Anderson is working with DP3 Architects to design this space to provide a pathway for entrepreneurs to start and grow their business.
This new state-of-the-art kitchen facility will feature two full commercial kitchens, a studio kitchen for baking, a retail space, and food packaging storage facilities. In addition to all the great amenities, The Community Kitchen will also offer business education classes, workforce development programs, and opportunities for retail sales.
The 2,500 sq. ft. facility will be available to rent on a daily and monthly basis. From bakers, caterers, and food truck owners, The Community Kitchen will provide everything culinary entrepreneurs need to succeed.
The space is located at 110 North Murray Avenue on the street level of the Whitner Street parking garage in downtown Anderson. If you, or someone you know, is a food entrepreneur that would like to stay updated with information regarding the kitchen space, send in your email address to cgaddis@cityofandersonsc.com to be added to the Shared Kitchen Incubator interest list!
