Tommy Wyche Conservation Center at Lake Conestee Nature Park

Conestee Foundation, Inc.
Greenville, SC

The Tommy Wyche Conservation Center at Lake Conestee Nature Park continues the legacy of the late Greenville environmentalist for which it is named. Just a few miles outside Greenville’s bustling downtown, Lake Conestee Nature Park offers 12 miles of trails and boardwalks with observation decks overlooking 400 acres of diverse natural habitats along the Reedy River.  In conjunction with Frank Harmon, Architect, DP3 Architects is designing a new visitor center that will create a shared space for conservation partners across South Carolina’s upstate while informing visitors about the park, its history, and its programs. With the center’s indoor classrooms, Lake Conestee Nature Park can expand educational offerings to year-round, weekend, after-school, and evening programs. In addition to classrooms, the center will provide space for events, meetings, offices, storage and utility rooms, a nature education lab, and visual displays and self-guided activities.
