A 75,000-square-foot office building in Greenville, SC has been transformed into a vibrant educational environment for GREEN Charter School Simpsonville, now serving students in grades K-7. Dedicated to a STEAM-focused curriculum—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—GREEN Charter School emphasizes individualized learning plans and small class sizes to foster academic excellence.

Converting a corporate office into a functional school presented unique design challenges. The DP3 Architects team strategically reimagined the existing space, integrating key educational features while maintaining efficiency and flexibility. Open office layouts were reconfigured into age-appropriate classrooms. Common areas were redefined to support student-centered learning, including a cafeteria, gymnasium, and library.

The adaptive reuse of the facility not only met the school’s programmatic needs but also maximized sustainability by repurposing existing infrastructure. The result is a dynamic learning environment tailored to support the school’s mission of academic achievement and innovation.
