Dental Clinic Renovation

DP3 Architects, in partnership with York Technical College, recently completed a significant renovation of its 4,000-square-foot Dental Clinic. This project expanded the space to 6,600 square feet and aimed to create a state-of-the-art learning environment for students and a high-quality care facility for the community. The renovation included updating and replacing aging utilities, equipment, and overall infrastructure, ensuring the clinic meets the latest standards and functional needs required for program accreditation. In addition to this renovation effort, DP3 Architects designed a temporary dental clinic operation on campus while the main clinic was under construction – allowing the program to continue operating without interruption.

To accommodate additional operatories and meet accreditation standards, the clinic’s layout was reconfigured and expanded. This expansion allows the Dental Hygiene and Assisting programs to accept more students, thereby addressing the growing demand for dental professionals. The new layout is designed to enhance workflow and provide a more efficient and comfortable environment for students and patients.

One of the major components of the renovation was the significant updates to the aging infrastructure and utilities. This included upgrading air and vacuum/suction lines, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. These modifications were essential to ensure proper ventilation, temperature control, and overall, contribute to a safer and more efficient working and learning environment.
